Directions to Ardglass and Ballyhornan

Journey time from Jethro Centre to Ardglass is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes

Take the Moira Road (A3) out of Lurgan and after less than a mile turn right on to the Dromore Road (B2). Drive to Dromore and follow the main road turning left on to Princes Street (Belfast Road) at the end of the Market Square. Then turn right and follow this road for approximately 10 miles into Ballynahinch. At the roundabout turn right (second exit) on to Church Street / Newcastle Road (A24).

After thre-quarters of a mile turn left on to the Downpatrick Road (B2 again) and after a further 6.8 miles, at "T" junction, turn right on to the Belfast Road (A7) and follow this for 1.7 miles to Downpatrick. At the roundabout turn right (second exit) onto New Bridge Street, continuing straight on into Church Street, Irish Street, Stream Street and Killough Road before taking left onto Ardglass Road (B1). Follow the B1 until you get to Ardglass. As the sea comes into view the road turns sharp right and our (initial) car park is straight ahead - pictured below.

If you want the fish shop or public conveniences they are further along this road near the harbour.

For Ballyhornan, turn left on the A2 signed Strangford. If you have been to the fish shop and facilities retrace your steps a few hundred yards and at the crossroads take right on the A2 signed Strangford. Follow this road for a little under three miles until you come to a crossroads where Ballyhornan is signed to your right. Turn right and follow this road down to the car park near the water's edge.

There is a more direct route to Ballyhornan missing out Ardglass: take the Strangford Road or Quoile Road out of Downpatrick turning right onto Meane Road to Saul. Find the Slievegrane Road and follow this toT junction where turn right on to the Ballyhornan Road. Better still, trust your satnav.
