North Down Coastal Path - Holywood to Bangor

Let the train take the strain and make sure to leave plenty of time to park your car where you won't get a ticket! At "the other end" either get off at Holywood or at Bangor - an end-to-end walk is about 9 miles - the choice is yours - if you get a ticket to Bangor, you can decide on the train. On arrival at the station of your choice head towards Crawfordsburn where (if all goes to plan) we will meet up for lunch. After lunch you can catch a train at Helen's Bay station - other stations are available - if you don't fancy doing the full nine miles. Directions to Seapark Recreation Ground

If you decide to travel by car then meet at the Seapark recreation grounds which is approximately one mile east of Holywood Railway station on the North Down Coastal Path. If you leave Jethro at the usual time you should arrive just as the "trainers" approach from Holywood

Driving from Belfast direction continue past Holywood railway station and town centre on the dual carriageway / Holywood by-pass, passing alongside the raised railway embankment on your left which runs parallel to the road. The road rises, passes some houses on your left and Seapark Road is the first road on your left, just after two sets of traffic lights; last time I looked it had a post box on the corner in front of tall brick garden walls. Turning left on to Seapark Road, drive under railway arch, past playing fields on your right and take the first road on your right (still Seapark Road). Park in the car park on your left, near shore. Or you can let your Sat Nav take you there - type in BT18 0LP!

There are public toilets opposite the car park.
