Another perfect day

Keep safe, keep well, keep walking.

Another perfect day for a great walk at Cave Hill with spectacular views over Belfast.

Murlough

Some pics from a great walk at Murlough where Gordon took a large group through the dunes.

Castlewellan

Never mind the weather, as long as we're together.

Eagle

It was warm and sunny (maybe too many flies) for a challenging route up Eagle with an inquisitive sheep and a lizard that posed for a photo shoot. Great walk. Thanks Gary.

Downpatrick

A group of Cedars Walkers were blessed with lovely weather in Downpatrick when they had a fascinating visit to Down Museum and Cathedral. Carol could not resist trying on the "glamorous" fashion of an early ancestor, ably assisted by Pauline. And the visit to the Cathedral was inspiring. The "marriage" of ancient and modern was beautiful as was the view of the Mournes from the resting place of Saint Patrick in the ancient cemetery within the cathedral grounds. Mention must also be made of a very enjoyable stop for ice cream in Grahams, Dromore.

Murlough

Another perfect day for a great walk through the 6,000-year-old sand dune system at Murlough, with its network of paths, woodland and heath containing many species of butterfly . Four brave souls walked along the beach as high tide approached clocking up over 10Km of great walking with the added bonus of delicious blackberries.

Castlewellan
Castlewellan

Not wet, wet, wet after all - in fact it was mostly dry for another great walk at Castlewellan. We couldn't see Donard from the summit of Slievenaslat but, thanks to a newly discovered "Grand Old Duke of York" route, we managed 9Km and 300m ascent. Admittedly it did involve two visits to the Moorish Tower.

Pigeon Rock and Slievemageogh

Shirley led a great walk on another perfect day from Deers Meadow, across to Pigeon Rock and over to Slievemageogh. And Tom tells a great story. "Great walk, great company, great day, great pace. Thanks Shirley."
