Carrick Little
From Rathfriland, drive to Hilltown, turning left at the church and then right as you leave the town following the signs to Kilkeel. Drive past Spelga Dam and at the T junction just beyong the reservoir turn right on to Moyad Road/B27 towards Kilkeel. ¾ mile after passing the equestrian centre and Banns Road car park take left towards Silent Valley and left again at the end of this road. Follow the Head Road past the entrance to Silent Valley; Carrick Little car park is about 2½ miles further along Head Road on the left hand side. Blink and you might miss it.
Carrick Cottage Café
Car parking is sometimes available at the excellent Carrick Cottage Café 420 metres up the track - this has to be arranged in advance.
Pay car park
There is usually guaranteed car parking beyond the café for a small charge of around £3. And it brings you closer to the Blue Lough!
