Drive towards Moira on the A3 Belfast Road and take right on the B2 Dromore Road. Entering Dromore, drive past the Cathedral (on your right), straight through the roundabout and into the square, turning left on the far side of the square past the war memorial on your left and into Princes Street and take the first right into Mossvale Road towards Ballynahinch. In the middle of Ballynahinch take the second exit at roundabout (turn right into Church Street) and after half a mile bear left on the B2 / Downpatrick Road.
After 6.8 miles you will come to the A7 Befast Road. Turn right (towards Downpatrick) and then after 170 yards turn left on to the Finnebrogue Road and follow this for 1.2 miles before turning right on the the A22 / Killyleagh Road and then immediately left on to the Quoile Road. At the end of this road you will come to a crossroads - turn left on the A25 signed towards Strangford.
After 500 yards you come to a fork in the road - take left along Quay Road if going to the Quoile Castle. The road may be signed to "Quoile Countryside Centre". Quoile Castle (pictured right) and its car park are about 150 yards along this road on right hand side.
If not visiting Quoile Castle or if restarting your journey, take the right fork on the A25 signed towards the Strangford ferry and continue for about 3.6 miles until you come to another fork in the road. Once again the right fork is the main road but, if so instructed, take the left fork, Audleystown Road, signed to Audley's Castle. Otherwise, proceed towards Strangford, follow the signs for Castle Ward and park in the main car park.
