Quoile Castle (BT30 7JB) and Saint Patrick's Monument

Drive towards Moira on the A3 Belfast Road and take right on the B2 Dromore Road. Entering Dromore, drive past the Cathedral (on your right), straight through the roundabout and into the square, turning left on the far side of the square past the war memorial on your left and into Princes Street and take the first right into Mossvale Road towards Ballynahinch. In the middle of Ballynahinch take the second exit at roundabout (turn right into Church Street) and after half a mile bear left on the B2 / Downpatrick Road.

After 6.8 miles you will come to the A7 Befast Road. Turn right (towards Downpatrick) and then after 170 yards turn left on to the Finnebrogue Road and follow this for 1.2 miles before turning right on the the A22 / Killyleagh Road and then immediately left on to the Quoile Road. At the end of this road you will come to a crossroads - turn left on the A25 signed towards Strangford.

QUOILE CASTLE

After 500 yards you come to a fork in the road - take left along Quay Road and Quoile Castle with toilet (hopefully) about 150 yards along this road on right hand side. The road may be signed to "Quoile Countryside Centre".

SAINT PATRICK'S NATIONAL MONUMENT

Leaving Quile Castle rejoin the Strangford Road but retrace your steps towards Downpatrick for 463 metres and turn left on to the Mearne Road, driving along this for 1,957 metres before turning left on to Saint Patricks Road. Saint Patrick's monument is 1,189 metres (or therabouts) along this road on your right hand side.
