Another perfect day

Hare's Castle

Ronnie B. leads a group of intrepid Cedars Walkers up past Hare's Castle on a great walk from Dunnywater up to Rocky with an adventurous return on a new route through Rourke's Park. 10.8Km (6¾ miles) and 429m ascent. Lunch was on an idyllic picnic site near the summit of Rocky. Another perfect day.

Ott Track

Braving the heat a group of Cedars Walkers enjoy the sunshine walking from Ott Track car park round the backs of Meelbeg and Slieve Loughshannagh and over the summit of Ott - 8.3Km and 350m ascent. Well done.

Slieve Croob

Perfect walking conditions plus amazing scenery from the top of Slieve Croob yesterday . Not forgetting, of course, a delicious lunch at Hillyard Hotel in Castlewellan. The mussels proved really popular and no one was disappointed, either with the menu choices, the friendly staff or the lovely surroundings . A perfect end to this week’s walk.

Tollymore

Cedars Walkers enjoyed another great walk in perfect weather from Trassey car park through Tollymore led by Reuben and Ruth.

Meelmore

Ronnie B. led a successful circumnavigation of Meelmore on another perfect day - we even got some sunshine at the finish. As promised the walk was 8Km and 400m ascent or, to be exact, 8.2Km and 406m ascent. Some of our walkers even included an ascent to the summit of Meelmore.

Tollymore

Cedars Walkers took shelter from the sun and heat returning to Tollymore Forest for an enjoyable walk led by Gordon and Reuben.

Dunnywater

Cedars Walkers enjoyed another classic walk from Dunnywater up to Bog of Donard and back via Hares Castle.
