Another perfect day

Keep safe, keep well, keep walking.

Red Bog
Heavy rain at Spelga car park resulted in a last minute change of plan and Shirley led eight intrepid walkers from Yellow Water for a very pleasant 10.3km walk up to the Red Bog and back through Kilbroney Forest. Occasional light rain during the walk kept them a little damp on an otherwise perfect day!
Giants Ring
Another perfect day for a great walk from Shaws Bridge to the Giants Ring, and it was dry!
Finlieve
finlieve
A great walk on 19 February in challenging conditions from Sandy Brae to Finlieve via Slievebug and Slieveroe.
Spelga
Alison led a grade 4 walk from the car park at Spelga Dam following a circular route over Slievenamiskan, Cock, Hen, Spelga, Spaltha and back down by Slievenamuck. 10.6Km and 625m ascent at a cracking pace. Estimated walking time of 4hours was reduced to 3½ hours. Drizzle most of the way but we've walked in worse.
Some photos from our walk at a very wet Kilbroney up to the big stone. Seven turned up and it rained the whole time. However, everyone enjoyed the day and lunch in the café afterwards.
Lukes Mountain
Cobwebs
05 February 2026 was a perfect day for blowing the cobwebs away in 50MPH winds on Lukes Mountain in the Mournes before seeking shelter in Tollymore.
Tollymore
Well done Gary, Alison and John.
Whitewater at Mourne Park
Mourne Park
Castlewellan
Another perfect day for our walk at Castlewellan Forest Park. Three great walks with 9Km and 260m ascent for Gordon's group who climbed to the summit of Slievenaslat.
Lumpers Stompers
Lumpers
Lumpers Stompers stop to catch a breath on their epic adventure in the Cooleys on 19 February.
Ronnie led his party on a 16Km grade 4 walk from Lumpers to the summit of Black Mountain with a total ascent of 630m. A bit wet on the return leg especially for those unlucky enough to take an unplanned dip in the stream but all returned safe.
Finlieve
A challenging but extremely enjoyable walk in beautiful scenary.
Finlieve
Catching snowballs on Finlieve.
Armagh City walk
Armagh
It was a soggy Palace Demesne in Armagh for Thursday’s Walk on 12 February. But no matter, as always the craic was mighty for a group of 16 intrepid walkers. Coffee, gigantic scones, etc., were much enjoyed in the Demesne restaurant after the walk although it was noted that some walkers had arrived there earlier than others!
Lumpers
Great walk. Thanks Herbie.
Loughgall Country Park
It was a perfect day for staying close to home and out of the wind so one and a half dozen of us set off and enjoyed a great walk round the perimeter of Loughgall Country Park led by Gordon.
