Another perfect day

Keep safe, keep well, keep walking.

It was another perfect day for our walk from Balmoral Station, down Balmoral Avenue and Stockmans Lane, past the Lockkeeper's Cottage and along the Lagan towpath to Belfast's Botanic Gardens and the Museum where we had lunch before catching a train home - a total of 9Km for those who returned via Botanic station. Castlewellan
Another perfect day for our walk in the shade of Castlewellan Forest Park. Some climbed to the summit of Slievenaslat, lunching at The Mountain Lake, while others visited the Cypress Pond. Everyone enjoyed the fabulous refurbished walled garden.

Arriving at Spelga car park it became chillingly clear that shorts and sun cream were not the best idea. A cold wind resulted in a scramble for extra layers, but all 10 walkers were quickly booted and suited for a super climb up Spelga, Spaltha, Craigdoo and Slievenamuck before returning to our cars; a very rewarding day out.
