Another perfect day

Keep safe, keep well, keep walking.

Another perfect day for our walk in Mourne Park and up to the summit of Knockchree to enjoy uninterupted panoramic views of the mournes and Carlingford Lough. A handful of fallen trees didn't deter us.

Mourne Park

Another perfect day for a short walk in Mourne Park with friends.

Kilfeaghan
Bromance

Bromance flourishes on another perfect day in the hills above Kilfeaghan.

Peatlands
Peatlands

A soggy, wet and windy (but much milder) day was enjoyed by some of Cedars Walkers at Peatlands. Welcome shelter was provided by a large Spruce which had stood firm during recent storms and mini frogs had a ball hopping in an out of the numerous puddles and sodden marsh land. The morning was finished off with a very welcome cuppa. Thanks go to leaders Gordon and John for the memorable experience

Mountain Rescue Practice
Ulster Way

Roy and Mike trial the secret prototype Cedars mountain rescue vehicle.

Dunnywater

Despite encountering many obstacles, Herbie led another successful walk from Dunnywater.

Lumpers

As promised, it was another perfect day for Herbie and friends to walk in the Cooley Mountains before returning for welcome refreshments at Lumpers Pub.

Peatlands

Cedars Walkers enjoyed a short hike round Peatlands.

Ulster Way to Tievdockaragh

Not the planned walk due to limited visibility on Ott but a great walk nevertheless along Ulster Way from Leitrim Lodge, up the Yellow River and over Slievedockaragh. Alison, in her inaugural mountain leader role, was ably supported by Derek - well done both.

Murlough

Despite a bisteringly cold wind from the east and high tide we set off for murlough and had a great walk through the dunes with shelter from the worst of the wind provided by gorse bushes, trees and other vegitation, and the dunes themselves. Another perfect day out.

Scarva
Scarva

Cedars walkers, just about to enjoy a warming bowl of soup at Sinton’s on The Bridge, Scarva, after a very enjoyable 5 mile walk along the tow path towards Pontzpass and back. Thanks go to Ruben who was able to keep us updated about the Ravens, Ducks, Hawks and Tree Creepers on the way.

Roosley

Mike led another great walk on one of his favourite routes - Leitrim Lodge to Roosley. Storm damage on the Ulster Way didn't delay him for long.

Meelbeg

Shirley and Ronnie led a great walk on another perfect day from Ott Track over Slieve Loughshannagh and Meelbeg and down past Fofanny before returning to their cars.

Trassey Track

John O. led his group on a different route, enjoying very atmospheric light on the hills.

Benburb

Despite, or perhaps because of, a number of fallen trees we had a great adventure walking from Benburb Priory along the Blackwater and what remains of the Ulster Canal to Milltown. 5.5Km in great scenery and a perfect day for it. Afterwards a number of us went to Ardress where we walked the Lady's Mile, a beautiful scenic loop of 1.9Km past snowdrops and historic woodland so we got great value for our mile.
